Inauguration

Hello Siblings. I, the eldest Cookling, have gathered you here to take part in a unique opportunity. You may choose to decline my invitation, but doing so will invoke my wrath. I'm not above telling Mom on you. Allow me to elaborate:

You see, children, we are going to write a story. The story will be presented here, on this very blog, in serial format. I know each of you is dumber than me to varying degrees (I won't embarrass anyone by ranking you here and now, but if you are a boy, you should be worried) so let me explain what serial means. It will be told in "episodes," like a television show or, if that's before your time, one of those YouTube shows. I have written the first chapter. It is a long, long chapter. Each of you now must write a chapter. If you should fail, our next encounter could be violent. Well, more violent than usual.

In each of your e-mails accounts, you will find an invitation to post on this blog. Read my chapter. Choose one of the principal characters to write for. After you write a chapter for one character, you will be assigned a new one. The order of authorship shall advance from youngest to oldest, thus Lee will write the first chapter (after my long introduction chapter, of course), Debbie will follow suit, followed by Laura, then myself. Things may switch up later on if I deem fit. My authority as master and commander of this story shall be respected.

Its working title is the title of this blog. That may change. In addition to posting chapters, I anticipate supplementary posts, which will act as the "DVD extras" of our story. You know, maybe Lee will post something saying "im wurkin on my chapre butt jest reelizzed im a trerible spellir!" or Laura will notify us that the talking tree in her chapter is symbolic of the changing of our times. I don't anticipate Debbie learning how to use this feature.

Alright children. Get to it. I expect some posts swearing allegiance to the cause. I also expect Lee to post which character he is to write a chapter on, if not the chapter itself.

Don't let my faux elitist tone fool you. I am excited to do something creative with you guys and hope you can find the time to do this with me. Now let's write a story.
